Different names for the same thing. Only the list owner, or somebody that they designate can send a message to the list. They email one copy of their message to our machine, and our computers deliver it to all of the subscribers. Each subscriber sees their email address in the To: line, but they do not see anybody else's email address.

Compared to snail mail, announcement lists are fast and very, very cheap. So there is no excuse for not staying in touch with your customers and prospects.
