Subject: Your oncourse newsletter is being blocked

Dear oncourse List Owner:
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, through a form message
no less.
Some of your emails are being blocked by ISP's because of
the content or web page links (URL's) in your email message.
For example
550 5.7.1 id m19Lui76017899 from 68.92.51.3 bulk mail rejected. See http://mail.cc.umanitoba.ca/dcc/
Here's an example of the entire MTA log that we have on one rejection.
2008-02-20 18:20:55 1JRszs-0007HA-CH †** anonymous@cc.umanitoba.ca F= R=domainkeys T=domainkeys_smtp: SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: host electra.cc.umanitoba.ca [130.179.16.23]: 550 5.7.1 id m19Lui76017899 from 68.92.51.3 bulk mail rejected. See http://mail.cc.umanitoba.ca/dcc/
It gave that same error message to these subscriber's†
†† †anonymous@cc.umanitoba.ca
We have sent a separate email to these subscribers,
notifying them of the problem, and pointing them to a copy
of your email on our web page, at
†† †http://missing.mail-list.com/oncourse
Hopefully that email message will have gotten through, since
it did not contain your message, just a link to your
message. †And they will be able to read your newsletter on
our web page.
To solve this problem, you will need to contact the service
maintaining the blacklist and follow their procedures to get
off that list. †If the URL is not yours, you may need to
remove it from future newsletter issues.
Let me know if your have any questions.
Thank you.

p.s. †Here's instructions for the most common problems we see.
Fortiguard - http://www.fortiguardcenter.com/antispam/antispam.html
Click on the 'Submit False Positive' and follow their instructions.
AOL - http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554hvub1.html
Call 703-265-4670 and work with first level support.
If no progress is being made, get a trouble ticket number.
Then call the AOL Postmasters a couple hours later at
703-265-6942
SURBL - http://www.rulesemporium.com/cgi-bin/uribl.cgi
Paste your URL's in the input boxes, and click on the Check It
Review the output to see which of your URL's are listed, and†
at which data source.
All of the data in SURBL lists come from external data
sources. So generally speaking to get a record off a list
you should contact that data source as described at
http://www.surbl.org/
DCC - http://www.rhyolite.com/anti-spam/dcc/
Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse creates a mathematical
signature of spam messages. †ISP's can apply the same
algothrim to their incoming email, and ask a DCC server
if their is a match. †Therefore this is a check on the†
content of the email, not what IP address delivered it.
There are many variations of DCC, both free and open source,
and commercial. †You will need to check with the postmaster
of the ISP that rejected you.
If you have any corrections or additions, please send them to me,
by replying to this email. †Thanks.
