If you are new to PayPal, please take a moment and read our
tips.
You must open an account to use PayPal. There is no charge
to open your account. This means you will need to provide an email
address, a password, and the method of payment.
Whichever method of payment you choose, the information you
enter for your PayPal account must ABSOLUTELY and EXACTLY match
the information on your credit card statement. This is to help
prevent unauthorized use of your credit card account. For example,
if your street address ends in Avenue on your credit card statement,
you can not abbreviate as Ave. when entering your information
at the PayPal site. Computers will be talking to other computers,
and they need an exact match.
If you want your PayPal account to have a different address
than your credit card statement, OR, if you make any errors in
entering your address information, here's what PayPal does to
make sure someone has not stolen your card, and is trying to use
it.
PayPal will reject the attempt that you make to pay. It will
then do a "manual verification" of the information you
have entered. There is a $1.95 charge to do this, and it will
appear on your next credit card statement. Next to this charge,
there will be a 4 digit number which you will need to use in order
to activate your PayPal account when you log in. If you access
your credit card statements online, you should be able to find
this 4 digit number and charge within 5 business days. Otherwise,
you will need to wait for your next billing statement to arrive
in the mail.
Therefore, we suggest you get your credit card statement out
before visiting the PayPal site, and type in the information exactly
as shown on your credit card statement. Please click on the button
below to start the process.
