You can make changes to your list settings via our web page, and have them take effect immediately. So you can see if you want the Replies to go back to the list, or back to the individual who sent the message. This is a controversial setting, so you might want to try it both ways, and get some input from your charter members.

You can see what happens when somebody sends in HTML email, and how it gets converted to plain text before it goes to the list.

You can try approving all messages before they go to the list, or maybe approve just new members messages, and let your experienced members post at will. You can experiment with accepting strangers (just reply to the email you get), when they apply to join your list.

You can try out the searchable web archives, where all of the emails to your list can become visible to people visiting with their web browser. If you want to keep the information closed to just your list members, you can protect it with a password. Otherwise, just leave it wide open, and let Google index your content, so searchers can find the answers to their questions.

You can run a 1 Question Survey, and find out what is important to your members. You can change the settings and allow your members to include attachments. Or experiment with allowing attachments to go to your list as clickable links. The attachment will stay on our server, and a clickable link will be inserted into the email. Then those members that want the attachment, can click and download it.

You can turn on the Dual Address From Line, which makes all your emails appear to come from one email address. So your members can whitelist just one email address, to insure that their spam filters do not waylay your good email. You can turn on the Top Post Trim feature, and clean up those replies where your members words are at the top, followed by the previous message in it’s entirety.

You can see what kind of synergy develops when you get a group of like minded people communicating openly.
